english hate the jocks more than they hate the germans

I’m no historian, but as far as I know, relations between the English and the Scots are historically complex and have been shaped by many events and wars that continue to create tensions to this day. And if I am correctly informed, Scotland would like to become independent of the united kingdom. If you are interested in finding out more, I recommend that you do some research on the internet.

its just history that makes it like this , but personally i think its all bullshit , its a sport a game but some fans hold onto grudges because they can never see the bigger picture

Will there be a bronze final match played? I would reckon that will be the case right? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

No there hasn’t been a 3rd/4th game played since 1980

That is what I thought in the first place then. Thank you for confirming it.

O que mire “Braveheart” con Mel Gibson…quizá sea más entretenido jajajjajajja

In fact, I had thought of the movie, but as far as I know it has often been criticized for being historically inaccurate, I didn’t mention it.

Or decide to watch porn, youtube, cartoons or play video games… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:  :joy:

Por eso dije que sería más “entretenido”; ver a Mel Gibson mostrando el culo debería ser menos aburrido que leer historia británica

I have every opportunity to read british history and stuff, but the problem is just that I hardly never ever do it. :joy:

Well all I can say is I like the Scots and the Germans and love the rivalry with them both in football!

For the sake of completeness, I would like to add that although the two world wars have left deep scars, modern relations between England and Germany are characterized by friendship and cooperation. My personal assumption is that any hatred from the older generation towards the younger generation is diminishing. Lazaru’s statement that the English hate the Germans - even if some people might agree with it - is by no means representative of the English people as a whole. Anyone who thinks rationally knows that there is no such thing as “the Germans”, “the English”, “the Japanese” and so on. It is always a mistake to lump everyone together. If we did that, we wouldn’t be allowed to watch VHTV anymore, because it’s mostly about “the Russians”.

Amen.

I don`t understand one single word of Russian. I still observe VHTV. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Even though I still think Spain are the favourites, after yesterday’s game I think England can be trusted to do anything.
I mean, if the Spaniards score very early, it will be clear. But the longer the Lions can hold the result to a draw, the better chance the English will have

i think you miss understood me i was talking from a sports perspective , i know all about the wars etc , but that did not come into the equation when i made my comment , english football fans , have always needed to find a common enemy to fuel there passion , obviously the scots will always be enemy no1 , but due to the history between the english and the germans and penalties results the germans have become enemy no2 , i doubt any of the english football fans take heed of past wars in there dislike of germans and scots its just friendly rivalry that as gotten passioniate, link that with results and beer and thats how you get to the word hate

Great point. I’m Japanese living between Dutch and German Family’s. Only downside for me is that they all speak German at Family meetings and that’s the one who’s so difficult to learn :grimacing: :joy:

You should start teaching them to speak Japanese. They will all love it
